Join the ladies of the CUSF Women’s program, Project Mapleseed and LadyGuns for this episode of “She Shoots.”
This month, we are highlighting one of the many organizations that contribute to Canada’s shooting community through promotion, development and governing of organized, recreational, and competitive target shooting in and for Canada.
We welcome Sandra Honour, President of the Shooting Federation of Canada (SFC) to our show. The Shooting Federation of Canada is recognized by Sport Canada, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) and other organizations involved in the Canadian sport system. The Shooting Federation of Canada offers programs for recreational and high-performance shooters and provides professional development for coaches and officials.
Guest Speaker:
Sandra Honour
Sandra began her sports career as a swimmer on Canada’s National Team from 1979 until 1984. Once she retired from that, she took her drive and competitive spirit into shotgun sports where she thrived and again had the opportunity to represent Canada again on the international stage as a member of Team Canada’s National Shotgun Team from 1993 until 2015.
Sandra took her experiences and became active within the community as a Provincial and National Sport Governing Body Executive Member starting in 2000. She is an active supporter of gun ownership in Canada, testifying at Senate Hearings and has been interviewed for news articles and television appearances.
In 2016, Sandra was elected President of the Shooting Federation of Canada which she serves to this day.
