SHE SHOOTS – Episode 21: How to Organize a Women’s Range Day

This month, we welcome Jamie-Lee Beggs, she is an avid hunter, angler, trapper and a successful range day coordinator. We will talk all about how to set up a successful range day, what you need to know before you begin planning, pitfalls and things to avoid along with gaining sponsors and final execution of the event.

Jamie-Lee Beggs

Jamie-Lee is 36 years old, a Wife, Educational Assistant, Hunter, Angler, Trapper and range day coordinator. She also spends her free time being a backyard mechanic, gardener, canner, sewer, home renovator while enjoying riding her motorcycle and quads.
She has fished with her dad since she could hold a rod. She did not start hunting or shooting, both rifle and archery, until her mid 20s with her husband. A couple years ago she learnt the art or trapping from her dad and got licenced. It has quickly become her new favorite winter activity!
Jamie-Lee loves to be outdoors, spending time in nature and learning and discovering new things.
Teaching and introducing firearms, archery and hunting to new comers is a passion of hers. Using this passion, Jamie-Lee was able to put together a very successful women’s range day in Fort MacMurray which has only grown since.

About SHE SHOOTS PODCAST:

SHE SHOOTS is a podcast for women in the shooting community and for those interested in learning more about it. It is hosted by women who shoot, hunt, and instruct and most importantly share a passion for introducing new ladies to the sport.

Coming to you on the second Tuesday of every month, the objective of SHE SHOOTS is to showcase various activities in the shooting sports and highlight the people who participate. We hope this will help you find something you are interested in learning more about and various ways to get involved.

Did you know the shooting community proudly boasts over 250,000 licensed women who participate across Canada? This sport has something for everyone and it’s easy to get out and give it a try.

Join us every month when we host SHE SHOOTS on a variety of social media platforms. This exciting collaboration is brought to you by the Canadian University Shooting Federation, Project Mapleseed and LadyGuns.
